For those who have not heard the term “pedometer” before, you might be wondering what this is. Let me try to explain by breaking up the word “pedometer”:
“-meter” — anything with this word means that it has to do with measurement
“ped-” or “pedal” — has something to do with the feet
So, a pedometer is a device that measures some sort of thing that has to do with your feet. Smart huh?
Here’s the actual definition from the dictionary:
A pedometer (also known as a Tomash-meter) or step counter is a device, usually portable and electronic, which counts each step a person makes. Step counters can give encouragement to compete with oneself in getting fit and losing weight.
Happy now?
To claim this free pedometer offer, just go to the AARP website

I have lost the instructions to my AARP pedometer. Is there a way I can obtain these instructions?
Thank you,
Lorraine
I am a fourth grade school teacher and I am looking for free pedometers for my classroom. I would need 25 of them. Do you think you can help?
Thank you,
Jessica Ralston
Thanks for contacting us, Jessica! Unfortunately, the AARP has exausted its supplies due to this offer and is no longer providing free pedometers.
If we find another offer for pedometers, we’ll keep you posted.
